Parks, leisure and the arts Chorlton Green Conservation Area

Trees

The trees in Chorlton Green play an important part in establishing the character of the conservation area. Some of those around the Green itself were planted in 1895 and are now fully mature. Others were planted more recently, and are intended to replace the older trees when they eventually die. Conservation area designation gives some protection to all trees within the area.

Anyone wishing to fell, prune or uproot a tree covered by a Tree Preservation Order or in a Conservation Area should seek permission first from us before undertaking any work to the tree.
