Notice of Intention to Marry fees
- £42 per person
- £57 per person if, as a couple, you are referred to the Home Office, under the referral and investigation scheme
Fee for consideration of documentation of a divorce / dissolution outside the British Isles
- £55 or £83. We will advise you at the appointment which fee applies to you.
Ceremony fees at The Pankhurst Suite
Fees for ceremonies in the Pankhurst Suite are:
- Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, at 9.10am or 9.50am: £68.50 Basic, standard ceremony - the couple and two witnesses only. No guests.
- Monday, Tuesday or Thursday from 10.30am - 3pm or Friday from 9.10am - 3pm: £226.50 plus a non-refundable booking fee of £40. Enhanced ceremony with the couple and up to 70 guests.
- Saturday 9.10am – 11.10am: £351.50 plus a non-refundable booking fee of £40. Enhanced ceremony with the couple and up to 70 guests.
- Saturday 1pm – 3pm: £377.50 plus a non-refundable booking fee of £40. Enhanced ceremony with the couple and up to 70 guests.
The Pankhurst Suite is not available on Wednesdays.

Ceremony fees at other licensed venues in Manchester
The fees for registrars to attend are:
- Monday to Friday
- £501.50 plus a £40 non-refundable booking fee. Daytime until 4pm
- £653.50 plus a £40 non-refundable booking fee. Evening, 6pm
- Saturday
- £601.50 plus a £40 non-refundable booking fee. Daytime until 4.30pm
- £653.50 plus a £40 non-refundable booking fee. Evening, 6pm
- Sunday and Bank Holidays
- £701.50 plus a £40 non-refundable booking fee. Daytime until 4:30pm
All prices include the cost of one marriage certificate. Prices are reviewed annually.
The total fee is non-refundable if you cancel within three months of the ceremony date.
Certificate Fees
Any additional certificates requested before the date of the ceremony will cost £12.50. Further certificates can be purchased at a later date.
Paying your fees
For a standard ceremony in the Pankhurst Suite, the full fee must be paid at the time of booking. For other ceremonies an initial, non-refundable deposit of £40 must be paid when the ceremony is booked.
The balance of the fee must be paid three months before the ceremony. If you book within three months of the ceremony date, the full, non-refundable fee will need to be paid at the time of booking.
You can pay the balance of your fees online, or we accept payment in the office by:
- cash
- credit/debit card
- cheque or postal order made payable to Manchester City Council.
Paying the balance of your ceremony fees
You can pay your civil marriage and civil partnership ceremony fees online.
To pay online you’ll need:
- your booking reference number this is on the provisional confirmation letter you received after you paid your deposit)
- the full names of the couple
- the amount of the balance that you need to pay. If you’re not sure how much is outstanding email us at registeroffice@manchester.gov.uk
- credit or debit card details
An electronic receipt will be issued straight away.
