Publication Stage

This consultation has now closed.

All consultation responses received are currently being read, and providing no new matters of substance/soundness are raised, we will be moving to the submission stage. The submission of the plan will then be followed by an examination stage which is led by an Independent Planning Inspector.

All consultation responses will be sent to the Inspector as part of the submission documents alongside a consultation statement that will summarise the key issues raised in the consultation.

Manchester is growing fast. New homes and jobs are being created.

We want this growth to help us become a zero-carbon city by 2038.

To support this, we are updating the Local Plan. The plan will guide how land is used in Manchester for the next 15 years.

The Local Plan covers:

• New homes, including affordable housing
• Shops, jobs and leisure services
• Green spaces and the environment
• Transport and connections.
