A jobs fair takes place this week on Tuesday 24 January at Manchester Central Library for anyone looking to make a career in either the Armed Forces or the Emergency Services.

Confirmed employers taking part who have vacancies ready to be filled include Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and the NHS - with jobs in administration, customer service, care, and many more.

The special recruitment event runs from 10 am to 1 pm in the Performance Space on the ground floor of the library.  Anyone interested in attending needs to pre-register for the event here - after which they'll be able to turn up on the day to browse the stalls and speak directly to employers taking part.

Staff from a range of support services such as Manchester Adult Education Service, Department for Work and Pensions, and Smart Works will also be on hand to offer advice and support to all those who attend.

Councillor John Hacking, Executive Member for Skills, Employment and Leisure said: "We're determined to do everything we can to support local people into employment and training and to help them succeed in their lives.

"The jobs fair provides the perfect chance to find out more about careers within the emergency services and Armed Forces direct from the organisations themselves - many of whom have real vacancies that need filling now.

"Come along and see what's on offer - you won't regret it."
