A fun-filled weekend for all the family to enjoy is coming to Heaton Park this Easter.

From the first ever Easter Egg Hunt in the Irk Valley to the launch of four new outdoor adventure courses at Boggart Hole Clough, and the biggest park in Manchester holding some exciting family friendly activities, Mancunians will surely be kept entertained as they welcome in the spring this Easter break.

The much-loved Easter Market and the Heaton Park Big Egg Hunt returns to Heaton Park with an action-packed funfair for thrill seekers and eager-gamers will also make an appearance. Creative umbrella painting and colourful arts and crafts workshops are just some of the free fun activities available.

On the park’s courtyard, local vendors will have on offer selections of artisan Gin, artsy print designs and handmade garden ornaments and trinkets.

Nearby, young families can also play on the free pop-up play area or sit back and relax with refreshments from the Cafes.

The Heaton Park Big Egg Hunt gives the chance for everyone to hop into the search for the Easter bunny while following mystery eggs hidden amongst the paved footpath trail.

After picking up a map at the beginning of their quest, hunters will also be tasked with collecting letters along the way that will unlock the secret word to receive the prized chocolate Easter egg at the end.

Across eleven of Manchester’s much-loved parks, visitors can also pick up a map there and stroll through to experience the best of spring as part of the Bloom Town project in collaboration with The National Trust. Amid open greenspace and budding trees, it’s a new way to become fully immersed in the city’s flourishing parks.

The Easter Markets will be at the Stables courtyard on Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April 10am-3pm

The Heaton Park Big Egg Hunt is £4.00 per person and will be on Friday 29, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 March at 10am-2:30pm.

Tickets for the funfair are £2 per person from 23rd March to 21st April.

Councillor Lee-Ann Igbon, Executive Member for Vibrant Neighbourhoods, said: “Bringing families and visitors together during the Easter period is one of our favourite times of year as our regularly used parks and other green spaces become even more welcoming to communities as they begin to flourish.

“Heaton Park serves thousands of visitors each year and offers fantastic events for a fun day-out for all the family to engage with like our Easter Markets supporting local traders and the annual Egg Hunt. Through bringing communities together, we expect this Easter to be our most celebrated.”
