The government’s Pride in Place programme is investing in the UK's local communities. Nearly 250 areas will get funding to create vibrant neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of.
What’s happening?
- Over the next 10 years, each area will receive up to £20 million.
- The money will go towards things that matter most to local people, such as:
- safer streets
- revitalised high streets
- enhanced community spaces
- improved events and activities for residents.
Which areas in Manchester will benefit?
Four areas have been chosen:
- Clayton Vale (parts of Clayton, Openshaw, Miles Platting, Newton Heath)
- Gorton South (parts of Longsight, Gorton and Abbey Hey, Levenshulme)
- Benchill South and Wythenshawe Central
- Harpurhey South and Monsall (parts of Harpurhey, Moston, Crumpsall)
