The Mockingbird model of fostering
Mockingbird is an extended family-based model, focusing on the relationships between children, young people and foster families. It is structured around the support an extended family provides, to build a resilient and caring community of 6 to10 fostering households.
Mockingbird aims to create stability for our children, and the model has proven to be positive in keeping our young people with their foster families until they reach independence.
The hub home carer role is very important in the success of Mockingbird, as they will be the glue holding the constellation together. They are key in providing advice, guidance, practical and emotional support to the families in their constellation. If you think you have the skills and passion for Mockingbird, this could be the perfect role for you in fostering.
