This approval can be granted to any type of organisation including professional or amateur. No payment is made to the child or to anyone else in respect of the child taking part in the performance and the child does not require absence from school.
You will need to demonstrate that you have clear, robust and well embedded safeguarding policies and arrangements in place to protect children. This will inform our decision and it is at our discretion whether to issue an approval.
You only need apply to us if your performance takes place with Manchester local authority area.
The BOPA will be issued for all children taking part regardless of where they live.
Before starting this form ensure you have:

Total number of children (under 16) from each local authority who will be taking part in the performance(s);

Supervision arrangements – name of all adults involved and relationship to children e.g. chaperone, teacher, parent/carer or responsible adult;

Child protection policy; and
-
Risk assessments e.g. transport arrangements, venue etc.
