Cut the cups
We're promoting refill as the best option for takeaway drinks. We encourage hot drink sellers to offer a discount to customers who bring their own cup. Even better, you could charge extra to use a throwaway cup.
Research by City to Sea shows charging for a throwaway cup encourages more people to refill. Sales of drinks served in reusable cups went up from 3% to 50% when there was a charge for a throwaway cup. This contrasts with offering a discount for using a reusable.
