  1. Clean, green and safer neighbourhoods make our city attractive. They help us feel better and safer where we live, work, study and visit.

    These are the projects that have been funded by the Clean and Green investment in your neighbourhood so far. The 'completed' projects were finished in 2024 and 2025. The 'in delivery' projects are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.

    Completed projects

    Hollyhedge Park – drainage improvements

    Drainage improvements have been completed in the car park area of Hollyhedge Park, improving safety and access during wet weather.

    Lomond Road – verge reinstatement

    Damaged grass verges on Lomond Road have been reinstated to improve the environment and protect green spaces.

    Wythenshawe FC area – parking control (H‑bars)

    H‑bars have been installed across multiple roads near Wythenshawe FC to improve access and reduce obstructive parking. Locations include:

    • Edgecote Close,
    • Grosvenor Gardens,
    • Standcliffe Road.

    Age‑friendly benches – new walking route

    Nine age‑friendly benches are being installed across the ward to support active travel and provide more resting points for older residents. Locations include:

    • the junction of Gladeside Road / Greenwood Road,
    • Peel Estate (off Brownley Road),
    • Simonsway.

    Hollyhedge Road, near ASDA supermarket – new bee bollards

    New bee bollards with reflectors were installed outside ASDA supermarket to improve pedestrian safety.

    Bins

    All on-street bins across the ward have been replaced as part of the August 2024 to August 2025 programme, and park bins in disrepair are scheduled for replacement in Hollyhedge Park. Find out more about the bin installation and the efforts to fight litter.

    Projects in delivery

    Cedars Musgrave – double yellow lines and signage

    A Traffic Regulation Order is going to be introduced with new double yellow lines and signage to improve safety and visibility.

    Shentonfield Road – parking restrictions and bollards

    New parking restrictions and bollards will be installed on Shentonfield Road to improve pedestrian safety and manage vehicle access. Wythenshawe FC area – junction safety improvements Double yellow lines are being added at multiple junctions to improve visibility and reduce unsafe parking. Locations include junctions of:

    • Edgecote Road/Altrincham Road;
    • Grosvenor Road and Altrincham road;
    • Stancliffe Rd and Norwell Road;
    • Stancliffe Rd and Chaffinch Close;
    • Stancliffe Rd and Goldcrest Close;
    • DYL junction Stancliffe Rd and Dunstall Road.

    Crossacres – traffic calming

    Speed cushions will be installed to reduce vehicle speeds.

    Calve Croft – new road markings

    Road markings are going to be installed to improve traffic control and visibility.

    Play area improvements

    Some improvement works are completed in Hollyhedge Park, with more scheduled for in 2026. Find out more about the play area and planned improvements.
