Clean, green and safer neighbourhoods make our city attractive. They help us feel better and safer where we live, work, study and visit.

These are the projects that have been funded by the Clean and Green investment in your neighbourhood so far. The 'completed' projects were finished in 2024 and 2025. The 'in delivery' projects are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.

Completed projects

Angel Memorial in Boggart Hole Clough – pathway and landscaping repairs

Improvement works have been completed at Angel Memorial, including resurfacing the existing pathway with tarmac, clearing vegetation, applying weed treatment and preparing surrounding shrub beds to improve appearance and accessibility.

Boggart Hole Clough main drive and car parks– traffic calming and surfacing

Works have been completed that improve safety and accessibility at the main drive of the park from the entrance to the Lakeside Cafe. This includes full road resurfacing, new speed humps and refreshed lining in the café car park; and new signage in the Visitor Centre car park.

Bins

All on-street bins across the ward have been replaced as part of the August 2024 to August 2025 programme, and park bins in disrepair have been replaced in Boggart Hole Clough. Find out more about bin installation and the efforts to fight litter.

Projects in delivery

Boggart Hole Clough – Athletics Track Lighting

The floodlights, at the athletic track, will be repaired and replaced with a LED lighting system. These changes will improve the energy consumption, increase brightness and allow the track to be open for extended hours which will increase usage and visitor satisfaction.
