Harry's interview - transcript

Harry: Plan Bee Apprenticeship Graduate

Plan Bee sort of stood out for me. I got a range of different job roles, working for a range of different companies and gaining different experiences within different disciplines. So, I did a range from Quantity Surveying and Project Management, Site Management, architectural and structural engineering. It was good to actually experience a heritage project - compared to constantly just being on new-build schemes – with all the different sort of mosaic tiles, the ceilings, the stained glass windows. You see the various different types of things you’ve probably never seen on any other project before.

Obviously there’s other benefits: you’re getting paid for working rather than just being sat in a classroom where you’re paying surplus £9000 a year to actually go to University. That’s one of the main benefits, and you’re getting your degree paid for while working and learning at the same time. It’s obviously a win-win situation when you think of it.

PlanBEE sort of opened my mind up to different disciplines and what everyone actually does in the industry, so I’d definitely recommend going down the apprenticeship route. From learning to actually earning as well, and getting a greater understanding of what actually goes on in the industry.

Ends.
