Making Manchester Fairer: Measuring Inequalities Toolkit
It's important that we measure any changes in health inequality. To do this, we collaborated with the University of Manchester to develop this Toolkit. It's for anyone interested in learning more about inequalities in health.
This online course gives participants a comprehensive understanding of inequality measurements. There are seven-sections in the programme, which includes topics related to inequality measures. These range from fundamental concepts to advanced measurements.
The developers have tapped into Manchester's history to identify and explain inequalities. They've looked at the impact of key events, from both social and economic points of view. It's often found that historical events have exacerbated existing inequalities. The methods presented in the Toolkit work well in this case, but can also help investigation into a wide range of settings.
