A full programme of events and activities from Monday 14 to Tuesday 22 August

Monday 14 August

  • 1.30pm -3.30pm: Media Club by Yellow Jigsaw at The Beacon Centre, 131 Barrington Street Manchester M11 4FB. Learn about photography, comic strip-making, newspaper reporting and TV interviewing, plus the real-life news agenda of what’s fake and what’s not (Free, 11–16 year olds)
  • 4pm - 6pm: Indoor activity play sessions delivered by youth and play workers from Water adventure at Beacon Centre, 131 Barrington Street, M11 4FB (Free, 8-12 year olds)
  • 6.30pm - 8.30pm: Yoga and Meditation workshop at Resonance Centre, 599 Ashton New Rd, M11 4SG (Free, 16 plus)

Tuesday 15 August

  • 10am-12noon: BMX sessions at the National Cycling Centre, Stuart St, Manchester M11 4DQ. Young people aged 8+ years, participants must be able to ride a bike confidently. Coaches will help you develop your cycling skills to ride the track confidently and progress through different areas of the track. Places are limited, each session is 2 hours. Max 15 riders per session.
  • 12noon - 4pm: Clayton Hall Family Funday at Clayton Park, Ashton New Rd, Clayton, M11 4RU (Free, open to all)
  • 1pm - 3pm: Family Crafts at Clayton Sure Start Centre, 101 North Road M11 4NE (Free, 5-13 year olds)

Wednesday 16 August

  • 12.30pm - 3pm: East Manchester Lunch at Beacon Centre, 31 Barrington Street Manchester M11 4FB (Free, everyone welcome)
  • 12noon - 3pm: Funday at Delamere Park Delamere Street, Gorton, Manchester M11 1JY (Free, open to all)
  • 6pm - 7.30pm: Walking tour of the Sculpture Trail Lower Medlock Valley. Led by Dave O'Rourke of Friends of the Medlock Valley. Meet at Aden Close (Free, open to all)
  • 8.30pm - 9.30pm: Gong Bath at Resonance Centre, 599 Ashton New Rd, M11 4SG (Free, 16 plus)

Thursday 17 August

  • 12noon - 3pm: Family Crafts by Malandra Jacks at Beacon Centre, 599 Ashton New Rd, Manchester M11 4SG. Themed around the celebration of the area (Free, open to all)
  • 2pm - 4pm: Media Club by Yellow Jigsaw at The Grange, 19 Pilgrim Drive, Beswick, M11 3TQ. Learn about photography, comic strip-making, newspaper reporting and TV interviewing, plus the real-life news agenda of what’s fake and what’s not (Free, 11–16 year olds)
  • 3pm-5pm: BMX sessions at the National Cycling Centre, Stuart St, Manchester M11 4DQ. Young people aged 8+ years, participants must be able to ride a bike confidently. Coaches will help you develop your cycling skills to ride the track confidently and progress through different areas of the track. Places are limited, each session is 2 hours. Max 15 riders per session.

Friday 18 August: Cutting Room Square Activities 10am - 2pm (Free, open to all)

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle stall – learn how to crochet and knit for free 
  • Dc Bike sessions – repair your bike for free 
  • Halle St Peters - Presentations of the archive and history of the Halle
  • Teenage Market – Young people offering a variety of stalls on the day
  • 42 Street – curating workshops and performances by 42 Street
  • 11am - 12pm and 1pm – 2pm: Walking Monuments tour told by the residents of Ancoats (please bring your smart phone and headphones, if you have them)

Saturday 19 August

  • 11am - 3pm: Open Day at Clayton Hall, Clayton Park, Ashton New Rd, Clayton, M11 4RU. Themed around the history of the hall (Free, open to all)
  • 12noon - 3pm: Openshaw Park Family Funday, Parkhouse Street, M11 2JJ (Free, open to all)

Sunday 20 August

6pm - 8.30pm: Yin yoga and sound healing at Resonance Centre, 599 Ashton New Rd, M11 4SG (Free, 16 plus)
