Work experience, training and education
The Our Town Hall project will support Manchester residents, and offer chances for people to develop their skills, get qualifications, and move into - or further into - employment. We’re already working with a number of Manchester residents through work placements and school engagement, and will be expanding this offer to more residents.
There will be several ways that residents can get involved:
• a visit by project staff to your school or organisation to talk about their work (this could focus on careers advice, employment, and STEM options).
• work experience placements for students aged 14 to 16, or 17+. There is no upper age limit on who we can accommodate on a placement.
• apprenticeships at all levels (from trade-based work, such as joinery or stone masonry, to professional roles, such as architecture or project management)
We're also supporting students from the Manchester School of Architecture and other Higher Level Education establishment with themed site visits, mentoring, and research projects through the duration of the project.
