Introduction

The Upper King Street conservation area lies in the heart of the city centre and was designated by the City Council on 4th November 1970.

It comprises the central financial district around the eastern portion of King Street. The area was extended on the 26 June 1985, to include properties up to Market Street and Mosley Street.
