Building on the momentum from our School-age Childcare conference in June, we are pleased to announce the launch of further free training for providers in Manchester during the Autumn term.
Level 2 Award in Playwork Practice (L2APP)
This is an accredited Playwork qualification course, awarded by Agored Cymru, which will be delivered online by Coleg Y Cymoedd. Whilst this is usually only available to settings and practitioners in Wales, Manchester City Council has worked with Play Wales to ensure our providers have access to a qualification not otherwise accessible in England. Moreover, this qualification is recognised by OFQUAL - the regulatory body for qualifications in England.
It is the perfect course for anyone passionate about supporting children’s play and creating enriching, child‑led environments. The qualification builds confidence and practical skills, helping learners understand the importance of play, how to support it safely, and how to work effectively in play settings such as after‑school clubs, holiday schemes, and community play projects.
Applications for the course are now live and will close at 9am on Monday 21st September.
You must complete this form to be considered for a place.
Places are limited to 15 so in the event of the course being oversubscribed, we will rank applicants on their answer to why they want to complete the course, and we may have to limit the number of staff per setting.
Applicants will be informed of the outcome by Friday 25 September.
