It might be because they're young and at risk, or an older person who needs help at hand. Or they may have a physical, sensory or learning disability. They could be homeless, at risk of domestic violence or have a drug or alcohol dependency.
What type of housing support?
Housing support comes in a variety of packages: from very basic help and guidance, to more regular hands-on support.- If you're looking to live independently in your own home, check out the city council's housing support service.
- Or find out about all the other support packages by provided by different organisations across Manchester. The city council co-ordinates support by private companies, voluntary organisations, the NHS, home improvement agencies, not-for-profit landlords and charities. It's called the 'Supporting People' programme.
- Or if you're over 60, see if there are any retirement housingĀ options for you (or 'sheltered' housing as it used to be called).
