Benefits and support Crisis and Resilience Fund (Help with emergency living costs)

Get furniture and essential household items

You may be able to get help if:

  • you are being supported to move into a new home; or
  • you need help to continue living at home.

If you are being supported to move into a new home

To get help, you:

  1. must not have essential household items already; and
  2. must be getting support from the Council, a housing association or a charity to move because:
    • you are fleeing violence or abuse; or
    • you are moving from supported or temporary homeless accommodation into your own tenancy; or
    • there’s been a disaster, such as a fire or flood; or
    • you have significant health or care needs.

If you need help to continue living at home

You may also be able to get help if you have medical or care needs and would benefit from essential items to help you stay in your home.
