The Council and democracy Voter ID

Support with applying for free voter ID

If you don’t already have an accepted form of photo ID, or you’re not sure whether your photo ID still looks like you, you can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate.

If you need help and support to apply online, or you don’t have access to a digital device to get online, we can help.

Local libraries are holding support sessions where staff will be on hand with mobile devices to walk you through the applications process and help you take and upload a photograph.

You can also attend the Customer Service Centre at the Town Hall to get help with taking and uploading a photograph.

Have the Internet at home, and want support completing the form

Email us at digitalinclusion@manchester.gov.uk or text 07860 064128, and we’ll ring you and talk you through the form.

Have a device, but no data?

Our digital inclusion team can help. If you want to get online but are struggling to pay for WiFi, we can provide you with a free SIM and dongle so you can have internet in your house for six to twelve months.
