The Council and democracy Voter ID

Support to apply for free voter ID

If you need help to apply online, we can help.

Visit the Customer Service Centre at the Town Hall Extension on weekdays between 10.30am and 3.30pm. We can take your photo and help you to complete the online form.

Libraries also have regular voter ID sessions. Staff have mobile devices they use to help you apply. They can even help to take and upload a photograph. Use the list of libraries to find information on the days and times of sessions.

You'll need to give your name, address, date of birth and National Insurance number. If you don't know your National Insurance number or you don't have one, you can still apply. Our elections team will contact you for a different form of identity.
