How to pay your contribution
There are lots of different ways you can pay for the social care you receive:
If you have a virtual budget, where the Council organises your care and your budget for it, we’ll send you a statement every 4 weeks detailing how much you need to pay. You can pay your contribution in the following ways:
Online Payment
Payment can be made by Debit or Credit card by using our online payment system. You will need your Social Care Account Reference number to use this method. This will be on your four-weekly statement, and on the bottom right of your Social Care Payment Card.
PayPoint
You can use your Social Care Payment Card to pay for your care at any Post Office or shop displaying the ‘PayPoint’ or ‘PayZone’ sign.
Please ensure you keep the receipt safe.
Telephone Payments
Pay on-line 24 hours a day by calling 0161 234 5006. After listening to a brief introduction you will be presented with a range of options depending on the type of payment you wish to make. You will be asked to key in some personal details such as your card details and amount you wish to pay by using your telephone keypad.
Alternatively, if you want to make your payment via a Case Management Officer you can call:
-
0161 234 5487 / 5491 to make payments for your Community Alarm service, or
-
0161 234 5383 to make payments for other social care services.
By Bank Transfer
You can instruct your bank to make a payment to us using the following bank details:
Account Name: Manchester City Council - Receipts
Sort Code: 20-55-58
Account Number: 53348075
Barclays Bank
51 Mosley Street
Manchester
M60 2AU
Please ask your bank to quote your Social Care Account Reference number and your client reference number (which is shown on your statement) with your payment.
By Standing Order
This is an instruction form you to your bank or building society, authorising them to regularly pay a fixed amount to an organisation.
If the amount you are expected to pay changes, or the service ends, it is your responsibility to make the change with your bank.
Cheques
We do not promote the use of cheques as a form of payment and encourage customers to use one of the more efficient and quicker payment methods above.
If you are unable to pay for your care services using these methods, please can call us on 0161 234 5383.
