Get help with energy and heating costs
If you are at risk of going without heating or electricity, you may be able to get emergency support.
What this covers
- Gas or electricity prepayment meter top-ups.
- Other urgent heating costs, e.g. oil.
What you’ll get
We may provide:
- a voucher
- a bank payment.
Important to know
- This is emergency support only. It is not for ongoing bills.
- Usually limited to one payment per year.
- You may be referred for energy or debt advice.
- There is an immediate risk to your health, wellbeing, or that of someone in your household.
- You must have no way to pay for energy.
- The situation must be urgent.

We will tell you the outcome as soon as possible. We may contact you for more information.
