Schools, education and childcare Wraparound Childcare

What is Wraparound Childcare?

Wraparound childcare provides care for children before and after the school day to enable parents to access employment. Having access to extended childcare around the school day means parents can work more hours without the need to pick up their children from school and drop them off somewhere else.

It’s also known as breakfast clubs or after-school clubs. This childcare is:

  • For primary school-aged children.
  • Available every weekday from 8 am to 6 pm during term time.
  • OFSTED registered.
  • Offered by local schools or childcare providers (including private settings and childminders) either on or off the school site.
