The updated SRF seeks to build on the progress achieved to date. The principles remain unaltered from previous iterations, with the updated draft framework detailing the next phases of the masterplan in line with these principles. The framework responds to Manchester’s strong economic growth and increasing demand for commercial space within the city centre, and the adoption of new policies on climate change and zero carbon.
In addition to new commercial spaces, there is also the opportunity to create a mix of new homes, enabling people to live near the employment opportunities both being created at NOMA but also within the wider city centre. Development at NOMA will continue to benefit from strong links to the city’s public transport network. Manchester Victoria Station provides access to rail and Metrolink services, whilst Shudehill Station delivers bus connectivity, both within a few minutes’ walk.
The delivery of the next phases of development at NOMA will continue to support new employment and enterprise opportunities for Manchester residents across a range of sectors and levels. In addition, NOMA will continue to drive social value through construction, post development and its volunteering programme.
