You may be interested in these documents if you wish to understand the evidence that shaped the transport policies within the Core Strategy.

Transport for development -Assessing the Transport Impacts of the Local Development Framework ( Jan 2010 )  was produced for all 10 Greater Manchester authorities and was used to help refine  individual Core Strategies  by showing how much the spatial pattern of development  and the resulting travel demand changes could impact on the transport network .

The Greater Manchester Integrated Transport Strategy was produced to support the second Local Transport Plan and the proposals for the Transport Innovation Fund in the early 2000s.

The Transport Strategy for the City Centre (2010) sets out a range of measures and proposals to deliver sustainable access to, from within the City Centre, to support its myriad functions, but particularly its economic role.

The third Local Transport Plan (2011) sets out the future plans and spending priorities of Transport for Greater Manchester, the  ten Greater Manchester Councils and the other main partners .
