This project is part of 7km of carefully planned, mostly segregated cycle routes with new features for cyclists along Wilmslow Road and Oxford Road into Manchester. It will make cycling safer and easier for everyone – new and established cyclists, young and old, shoppers and commuters. The deadline for this project was initially March 2015, it has now been extended to early spring 2016, this is due to extensive consultation. A few issues have been raised on specific elements of the scheme.
Tell us if you have any specific issues about the scheme.
The Wilmslow Road Cycleway will improve the cycling infrastructure with features like segregation from other traffic, bus stop bypasses that keep cyclists out of the traffic flow, 20mph speed limits, advance stop lines for bikes and changes to crossing points specially for cyclists and pedestrians.
