Roads and transport Parsonage Road safer streets

February 2024 - Trial update

In Manchester, we are committed to listening to the views of residents and acting on them – one of the core principles of the 'Our Manchester' approach is that we take time to listen and understand.

For the last 6 months, we have been trialling a scheme designed to make residential streets in East Withington safer, following concerns raised by residents about road safety in the area, emphasising the need for better public space and safer environments for walking and cycling.

We have listened to the feedback from residents and businesses as to the benefits and impacts that the trial measures have had on the community. That feedback, along with the data we have collected, will now be assessed and evaluated against the original objectives of the trial scheme.

A final decision on the current trial will be made in the next couple of weeks.
