Community Interpreting

If you speak both English and another language you might be interested in our Community Interpreting courses. We run an introductory 7 week course and a longer, higher level, 12 week course to consolidate your skills.

You’ll learn all the terminology and techniques involved in interpreting and have lots of chances to practise and improve your skills.  The 12 week (36 hour) course will also include an independent external assessment of your interpreting skills as you work towards a Level 2 nationally recognised qualification.

Following the Level 2 qualification you will be able to undertake paid interpreting work at the discretion of employers, or progress to a Level 3 Community Interpreting course at the Manchester College, or apply for a place on a loLET's Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) course.
