If you're:

  • the only person over 18 in your home, or;
  • the only person over 18 who is counted for council tax

you can claim the single person's discount.

A Single Person Discount reduces your bill by 25%.

In some circumstances you can get more money off, or even pay no council tax at all. For example, if you are a student on your own.

If you live with full-time students Use the money off for students and people who live with students form instead.

If you want to tell us that a property is empty, including if you are a landlord reporting an empty property, use this empty property form instead.

You will need your council tax account reference number to complete this form. You can find this on your council tax bill.
