Area 1b – Stretford Road to Moss Lane West

Section 1b, which runs from Stretford Road to Moss Lane West, is now complete, and this marks the end of the work on all of section 1 (Chester Road roundabout to Moss Lane West).

This section also includes Manchester’s second CYCLOPS junction – the innovative cycling and pedestrian junctions designed to protect cyclists from general motor traffic, while allowing everyone to use the junction safely.

Building on the success of the first CYCLOPS junction, this new one features an additional pedestrian crossing that runs across at a diagonal, helping pedestrians to traverse the road even more quickly than previously.
