Chorlton is a popular area with a wide variety of places to eat and shop. It has a strong and active community.
What is happening?
Many new homes are being built in the area. This is good for growth, but it also brings some worries. People are concerned about:
- Extra pressure on public services
- The quality of public spaces.
What people told us
We asked people what they think. Over 600 people shared their views online. We also spoke to local groups and businesses.
There was strong support for:
- Better public spaces
- Improvements to the high street
- Improved local health services.
What we’re doing
We’ve created a Local Infrastructure Framework (LIF). This plan is based on what people told us.
The LIF was approved in February 2025. It helps us:
- Make better planning decisions
- Support new ideas and improvements in Chorlton.
