A6 Sparrow Crossing – project update

Almost 200 people took part in the consultation between September and December 2023.

People responded:

  • through the website
  • by email
  • through visits to businesses
  • at the online and the in-person events.

Responses were overwhelmingly positive about the proposed changes. More than 80% of respondents were in favour of them.

Some businesses on the A6 were less positive. We are writing to reassure them about some of the issues they raised, including:

  • locations for loading
  • parking for customers nearby.

We have written to residents of Belvoir Avenue about issues with their bin locations. They will need to leave waste bins in a different spot when we install the filter at the end of their street. This is because the waste collection team will be unable to negotiate the closed end of the avenue.

There will be a final consultation as part of the Traffic Regulation Order process in June. Work is currently due to start on site in early 2025.
