Over the last 30 years, Ancoats has transformed from an industrial wasteland into one of the country's top-choices for new residents, small businesses and visitors, with modern apartments, shops and eateries.
In line with the 2020 Neighbourhood Development Framework, we will be working with partners to transform the Poland Street area - the next phase of Ancoats transformation - into one-of-a-kind, top-of-the-polls neighbourhood with 1,500 new homes in green streets and spaces.
The area will transform in a way that gives this historic neighbourhood an epic future and delivers:
- Homes for a broad range of housing needs, including affordable housing.
- Spaces for more local businesses, employment, and community activities.
- High-quality green spaces, to create an attractive place to live and play.
- Streets and spaces created and improved for walking and cycling in a pleasant, high-grade, and historically sensitive way.
- The Ancoats Mobility Hub to provide sustainable transport choices, parcel delivery and cycling facilities .
